According to the National Institute of Scientific Investigation and the forensic team of the Kyungbuk National University, the total death toll from last week's subway inferno in Daegu might exceed 200. They said that there would be some 150 deaths, almost the double the number of casualties previously released by the police as more burned bodies are being found inside the burnt out train No. 1080. Meanwhile, the disaster control headquarters said Monday a total of 304 people are confirmed missing from the subway accident. Officials said they had removed the names of those confirmed killed or injured in the blaze from the list of 543 people reported missing, as well as the names of those who have been reported more than once. The anti-disaster officials said they will resume search efforts at Jungangno Station, where the fire broke out, with the help of forensic experts.
