Military and intelligence officials are said to have concluded the unmanned drones that crashed in Baengnyeong Island on Monday and in Paju a week before were built in North Korea.

A government source said Wednesday that analysis on the two drones found both planes were related and made the same way.

The source said the North apparently developed the drones as test reconnaissance planes to take pictures, adding the North’s reconnaissance capability is extremely weak.

The source said images the drones’ cameras captured cannot be disclosed because that could provide North Korea with information.

Another source said the drone that crashed on Baengnyeong Island on Monday was picked up by radar for an instant before it disappeared. The source said the path captured in the radar showed that the drone flew from the North.
