“Han Gong-ju” Wins Grand Prix at Fribourg Int’l Film Festival

Korean film “Han Gong-ju” has won the grand prix at the Fribourg International Film Festival in Switzerland.
 
Directed by filmmaker Lee Su-jin, the movie is about a high school girl who had to transfer to another school after an unexpected incident.
 
The movie premiered last year at the Busan International Film Festival where it won two awards. It also won the Golden Star Award at the 13 Marrakech International Film Festival and the Tiger Award at the 2014 International Film Festival Rotterdam.
 
Held in Swiss city of the same name, the Fribourg International Film Festival focuses on introducing films from Latin America, Africa and Asia.
 
At the Fribourg festival in 2011, Korean director Lee Chang-dong won the grand prix for his movie “Poetry,” and Director Kim Tae-yong’s “Late Autumn” received a prize given by a special jury of young people.
