Tour Program Linking Jian and N. Korea Launches

A new tour program allowing visitors to enter and travel through North Korea by train was launched on Sunday.

On the first day of the program, 32 Chinese tourists boarded a train in Jian city, in China's Jilin Province. The five day train tour will take them to Pyongyang, Gaeseong and Panmunjeom.

Tour trains will depart from Jian for North Korea once every four days.

The cost of the tour is two-thousand-980 yuan or about 497-thousand South Korean won per person.

The new route is the second passenger train link between China and North Korea. The first route originates in Dandong, Liaoning Province.

Both Jian and Dandong sit on China's border with North Korea.
