Gov't to Establish Database of Royal Documents from Joseon Dynasty

The Cultural Heritage Administration plans to establish a database of about 280-thousand pages of royal documents kept at Seoul National University.

The administration said on Monday that the project would last until 2018, and the Joseon Dynasty documents will be accessible to the public.

This year,  the administration plans to produce a database of the Joseon Wangsil Uigwe, which is a record of royal ceremonies and rituals; and the Seungjeongwon Ilgi, the Diaries of the Royal Secretariat.

Once completed, people can use the database online at the administration's Web site.
