South Korea’s under-16 soccer team has finished second at the 42nd Mondial Montaigu Tournament in France.

Led by Coach Choi Jin-cheol, the South Korean team lost to Côte d´Ivoire by 1-2 in the final of the tournament.

Côte d´Ivoire first scored a goal at the 39th minute of the first half. South Korean striker Lee Seung-woo scored an equalizer at the tenth minute of the second half. However, the African country won the match by scoring another goal shortly before the end of the game.

The South Korean U-16 team will participate in the Asian Championship, which will be held in Thailand in September this year, with an aim to win a ticket to next year’s under-17 World Cup. (2014.04.22.17:25:31)
