S.Korea Approves Humanitarian Aid to N. Korea

The Unification Ministry has approved a civic group’s plan to send humanitarian aid to North Korea.

With the approval, private aid group “Medical Aid for Children” will ship 75 million won worth of medical supplies to a children's hospital in Pyongyang.

The planned aid brings the total amount of assistance to the North by South Korea's private aid groups to over two billion won this year.

The South Korean government has reaffirmed its position that it will continue humanitarian aid to infants and pregnant women in the North regardless of economic sanctions against Pyongyang and political conditions.
