South Korea's 14-and-under tennis team has won a ticket to the world junior championship.
 
The team beat Japan 2-1 in a quarterfinal of Asia-Oceania regional preliminaries held in New Delhi, India.
 
In men’s singles, the two countries drew a tie by winning each of two matches. But South Korea defeated Japan in a men’s double event.
 
As a result, South Korea advanced to semifinals and won one of tickets to the ITF world junior competition, an honor given only to the top four countries.
