DMZ Tour Train Back on Track Starting May 4

A tour train that passes through the demilitarized zone is back on the tracks for the first time in four years.

The Korea Railroad Corp. said the train, comprised of three passenger cars, will make two daily round trips between Seoul Station and Dorasan Station starting on May 4.

The carriages have been decorated with themes related to unification and passengers will be served "military cuisine," including hardtack crackers and military rations.

After arriving at Dorasan Station, tourists will be taken to Dorasan Pyeonghwa Park, which was opened recently after having been closed for two years and four months. Visitors will also be able to take connecting buses to the Third Tunnel of Aggression as well as the Dora observatory platform within the DMZ.
