Seoul Food 2014 Opens at KINTEX

The 2014 Seoul International Food Industry Exhibition or Seoul Food 2014 opened Tuesday at the Korea International Exhibition Center (KINTEX).

The expo hosted by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) is one of the three major food industry exhibitions in Asia.

In its 32nd year, Seoul Food 2014 will be held for four days under the theme "The Challenge of Local."

A record number of over 13-hundred companies from 43 countries have set up a vast amount of booths on display.

Attending for the first time this year is the Pacific Alliance, an economic bloc made up of Chile, Colombia, Mexico, and Peru.

A variety of the next generation of Korean food, known as K-Food, will be showcased to foreign buyers during the expo.

The K-Food includes dehydrated kimchi and liquor powder that turns into the Korean rice wine makgeolli, just by adding water.
