About 14-thousand athletes and officials are expected to participate in the Incheon Asian Games set for September.

The organizing committee said Tuesday that about 12-thousand athletes and five thousand officials have registered for the games.

The committee estimated that the actual number of participants will be around 14-thousand, because on average about 20 percent of applicants withdraw before the start of the games.

Currently, 44 of 45 member nations of the Olympic Council of Asia have registered for the games, with North Korea yet to announce if it will participate.
