Korean History, Culture Curriculum Developed for Overseas Koreans

Young people of Korean descent living abroad will be able to learn about Korean history and culture more easily and systematically.

The Korean Schools Association of Northern California said it developed a standardized curriculum and guidelines for teaching Korean history and culture at extra-curricular Korean schools.

In textbooks, storytelling methods were employed to help young overseas nationals of Korean descent understand Korean history more easily.

The association will share the curriculum and guidelines with Korean schools in regions other than Northern California. The curriculum can be downloaded for free on the Web site “Study Korean" at study.korean.net, which is run by the Overseas Koreans Foundation.
