South Korean Women's Archery Team Sets New World Record

The South Korean women’s archery team has set a new world record at the Archery World Cup in Medellin, Colombia.

The team made up of Joo Hyun-jung, Lee Tuk-young and Chang Hye-jin on Wednesday tallied a combined score of two-thousand-32 at the ranking round for team competition.

The team broke a ten-year world record posted by fellow South Koreans Park Sung-hyun, Lee Sung-jin and Yun Mi-jin in the ranking round for the 2004 Athens Olympics.

Germany came in second in Wednesday’s ranking round with a score of one-thousand-973 points, followed by Mexico and China.

Three archers in a team get to each shoot 72 arrows in the ranking round for team competition. A final score is drawn up by adding the records of all 216 arrows shot.
