A musical featuring Korean independence fighter Ahn Jung-geun will open in China in August, according to a Russian media outlet.

The Chinese edition of the Voice of Russia reported that the musical will debut in the 32nd Summer of Harbin Concert.

The August concert will be jointly hosted by China's ministry of culture and the Harbin City government. 

Ahn Jung-geun is most well known for shooting and killing Japanese statesman Hirobumi Ito at Harbin Station in 1909, just one year before Korea was officially annexed by Japan. China also opened a memorial hall in Ahn's honor earlier this year.
