Incheon and Organizing Committee Welcome North Korea's Participation in Asian Games

The South Korean city of Incheon and the Incheon Asian Games Organizing Committee have welcomed North Korea's decision to take part in the 2014 Asian Games.

Incheon City announced Friday it wishes the participation will pave the way for inter-Korean reconciliation.

Vowing to make every preparatory effort, the city said it will work with the committee to provide the best safety, accommodations, and joint cheering programs for the North Korean delegation.

With approval and working-level contacts with the Unification Ministry, Incheon city plans to push for discussions on North Korea's local training ideas and the size of the delegation.

The organizing committee welcomed North Korea's decision saying that the upcoming games in September will become the perfect Asian Games, with all  45 member countries of the Olympic Council of Asia participating in the sports gala.
