Tourism Authority to Offer Translation Service on Key Web Site

The Korea Tourism Organization says it will offer translations of Korean words on the portal site Naver.com for international travelers.

Foreign tourists can easily look up English and Japanese translations of some 13-thousand words on Korean foods, tourist attractions and hotels in the portal’s dictionary service.

Google’s translation service offers just the Romanized names of Korean foods and places.

However, the Naver dictionary’s translations convey the meanings of place names and food titles, helping tourists with limited Korean ability understand what they really mean.
