WSJ: S. Korean Men's Per Capita Spending on Skin Care 1st in the World

The Wall Street Journal says South Korean men spent more per capita on skin care than any other country in the world.

The report said Thursday that South Korean men spent 25-point-30 dollars per capita on skin care last year, three times more than second-place Denmark.

The daily said Asia is one of the fastest growing markets for men’s skin care, noting that the region accounted for 64 percent of the three-point-three billion dollars spent globally in 2013.

It noted China is the largest market for men’s skin care at nearly 975 million dollars, followed by South Korea with 635 million dollars.

The paper quoted a cosmetics expert attributing the growing male beauty trend to climate, saying China and South Korea have cold, dry winters and hot, humid summers.
