N.Korea Sentences S.Korean Missionary to Hard Labor for Life

North Korea's state-run media says the North's court has sentenced a South Korean missionary to life with hard labor.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said Saturday a trial attended by "people of various circles" was held for the missionary the North identified as Kim Jeong-wuk.

The South Korean missionary was charged with state subversion, espionage and anti-state propaganda and agitation and illegal entry into the country.

Kim is known to have run a noodle factory and worked as a missionary in the Chinese border city of Dandung. He has been held by North Korean authorities for eight months after he entered the communist state early in October last year.
