South Korea will host an Asia-Pacific youth forum on the issue of water in Sangju, North Gyeongsang Province, from July ninth to the 12th.
Titled the Asia-Pacific Youth Parliament for Water, the forum is a venue for college students from regional countries to discuss the protection of water resources and the environment
This year’s parliament will be jointly hosted by the Sangju city government, the Environment Ministry and the National Assembly’s environment forum.
During the four-day event, participants will hold a debate and attend lectures. They will also visit related facilities, participate in hands-on education programs and adopt a declaration on the issue.
Outstanding participants will be selected and given prizes and the opportunity to participate in this year’s World Water Week in Stockholm, Sweden.
Vice Mayor of Sangju Min In-ki said that the city will use the gathering as an occasion to promote itself and attract water industry facilities.
