On August 15, the pope will preside over a mass to celebrate Assumption Day at the World Cup Stadium in Daejeon where families of the victims of the Sewol ferry disaster will be invited.

On the third day of the trip, the pope is scheduled to beatify 124 Korean martyrs in a ceremony held on August 16 at Gwanghwamun in downtown Seoul.

On August 17, the pope will officiate a mass at the Sixth Asian Youth Day in Daejeon, South Chungcheong Province.

On the last day of the trip on August 18, the pope will meet with leaders of South Korea’s seven major religions and officiate a mass at Myeongdong Cathedral in central Seoul as a way to send a message of peace to Korea.
