Busan to Enter Race to Host 2016 Women's Baseball World Cup

Busan will enter the race to host the 2016 Women's Baseball World Cup.

Kijang County in eastern Busan said Monday that it will submit an application to host the event to the International Baseball Federation at the end of this month.

Eight to 12 countries will participate in the seventh Women's Baseball World Cup, which will be held for ten days in August and September 2016. The host nation will be decided in July.

Kijang County plans to hold the games in its Dream Park, set to be built by June 2016. The expansive park will have four fields for social baseball leagues, a children’s baseball park, a softball field, a baseball experience center and an indoor practice field.
