Two Koreas to Hold Talks on Gaeseong Complex

An inter-Korean committee set up to handle the operation of the Gaeseong Industrial Complex will hold a director-level meeting at the factory park this week.

A Unification Ministry official said the North accepted South Korea’s request on Monday to hold a meeting for the inter-Korean joint committee. The meeting will take place on June 26 as proposed by Pyongyang.

It will be the first inter-Korean director-level meeting to be held since late February as inter-Korean relations have been tense since North Korea protested a South Korean-U.S. joint military drill.

The inter-Korean joint committee for the complex convenes once every quarter as a set rule. However, it has not convened for nearly half a year since the last meeting in December.
