The Seoul Metropolitan Government says it will run a complimentary "storytelling tour" for foreign residents and tourists from later this week.
The tours will be conducted over 30 separate sessions in five different areas of the city including Dongdaemun, Sejong boulevard, and the Han River park areas and will even show off relics of the ancient Baekje kingdom.
The first program on Sejong boulevard starts on June 27, a walking tour covering the Sejong Center for the Performing Arts to Gwanghwamun Plaza. That tour will introduce the Korean alphabet, called "hangeul" and historical figures such as King Sejong the Great.
In the fashion and history-themed Dongdaemun tour starting July 3, participants will walk from the Dongdaemun Design Plaza to the Dongdaemun History Museum, the Dongdaemun Gate, from which the district gets its name, and the Pyounghwa clothing market.
Each of the sessions will accommodate 100 people. Those who wish to take part can sign up at www.seoulstory.org or call 070-7596-6398 for more information.
