N. Korea to Indict Two American Tourists

North Korea is preparing to indict two American tourists, Matthew Todd Miller and Jeffrey Edward Fowle, for alleged hostile acts against the country.

Pyongyang’s official Korean Central News Agency said Monday that investigations will continue, but the tourists will be put on trial for charges already confirmed.

The news agency said evidence and testimonies have confirmed suspicions about their hostile acts.

It said North Korea is following the laws of relevant countries in terms of the men’s treatment and letting them contact consular officials.

Miller was detained for alleged misbehavior upon entering the country April 10. Fowle was held on suspicions that he left a Bible in his hotel room after entering North Korea on April 29.

A total of three Americans are currently detained in North Korea. Kenneth Bae, a Christian missionary, was arrested in November 2012 and sentenced to 15 years of hard labor.
