Archery Association: N. Korean Archers to Visit South for 2-week Training in August

North Korea’s national archery team will visit South Korea for training ahead of the 2014 Asian Games, which will be held September in the South Korean port city of Incheon.

The Korea Archery Association on Monday said the North Korean archery team will arrive in Incheon early August and undergo a two-week training program.

The North Korean team’s training in the South is part of invitational programs that the organizing committee of the Incheon Asian Games and the Olympic Council of Asia run for underdeveloped countries in each sporting event.

An association official said that about 16 or 17 North Korean archers and coaches will visit South Korea after completing training in China.

The official added that although the North has not yet sent a detailed training plan, the South Korean archery team will prepare for joint training with the visiting North Korean athletes.
