The project to build Korea’s first Baseball Hall of Fame is expected to gain traction as it has been assessed and met the criteria in a feasibility study.
Busan City said Wednesday that the Korea Institute of Economic Policy endorsed the plan to construct the Baseball Hall of Fame in Gijang County of Busan in its final feasibility report.
The institute was commissioned to conduct research and set up the basic plans regarding the construction of the baseball memorabilia.
Busan officials said the feasibility plan showed that the benefit of the building and managing the hall will outdo the cost by one-point-761 to one.
Set to be built in 2017, the hall will generate around 48 billion won in profit over the next 30 years, excluding the construction and management costs.
Busan has a popular professional baseball team, the Lotte Giants, and was chosen in March as the site for the country’s first official Baseball Hall of Fame over its rivals, such as Seoul and Incheon.
