N.Korean Man Defects to S.Korea's Baengnyeong Island

A North Korean man has reportedly defected to South Korea after arriving in a wooden boat on Baengnyeong Island near the inter-Korean sea border in the Yellow Sea.
 
A military source said the North Korean man, presumed to be a civilian, expressed his will to defect to the South early Thursday morning after arriving on the island.
 
The source said the North Korean man asked for his identity to be protected and and is being investigated by authorities. 

Last August, a North Korean swam to Gyodong Island in Incheon and defected to the South and 21 North Koreans arrived in the South in a wooden boat to defect to the South in November 2011.
