N. Korea to Continue to Fire Missiles

North Korea says it will continue to fire short-range missiles into waters off its east coast despite opposition from the U.S.

The North’s Korean Central News Agency quoted a North Korean military spokesman as saying that North Korea’s high-precision tactical guided missiles will "ceaselessly and powerfully" fly toward the enemy.

The spokesman insisted the North is exercising its right to self-protection with its short-range missile launches and military training. He added that North Korea will step up efforts to boost the strength to protect itself.

North Korea fired two short-range projectiles toward the East Sea on Wednesday. Military experts believe they were fired from the North's 300-millimeter multiple-rocket launcher KN-09.

Pyongyang has fired some 90 short to mid-range projectiles on 12 different occasions since the beginning of this year.
