Britain Extends Run of English Teaching Program in N.Korea

Voice of America reports that the British government will extend its English teaching program in North Korea for three more years.

Britain’s Foreign and Commonwealth Office said that it will continue providing English education to North Korean students until 2017.

Britain and North Korea signed a memorandum of understanding on the extension in Pyongyang late last month.

Four instructors will teach English at ten North Korean schools in the language immersion program.

Britain has been operating the English teaching program in the North since 2000.
