Gyeonggi to Send Aid to N. Korea for 1st Time in 4 Years

Gyeonggi Province will send aid to North Korea for the first time since the South imposed sanctions in May 2010, following the sinking of the South Korean warship Cheonan.

Gyeonggi Province said Sunday that it plans to deliver pest control products worth some 500 million won to the North. The aid will be given through Gaeseong as early as next Friday.

The province said it received permission from the Unification Ministry for the delivery and that it will get final approval within this week.
