Sex Slavery Victims, N.Korean Catholics Invited to Papal Mass

South Korean victims of Japan’s wartime sex slavery will attend a mass officiated by Pope Francis during his trip to South Korea next month.

The South Korean Catholic Church’s committee preparing for the papal visit said it will invite the sex slavery victims and those working for peace and reconciliation to the mass. The ceremony will be held at Myeongdong Cathedral in central Seoul on August 18.

The committee has also invited North Korean Catholics to the mass.

Sixty-eight reporters from eight domestic media agencies will accompany the pope to cover his visit.
