Daegu University to Host Biligual Speech Contest

Daegu University will host a bilingual speech contest for students from multicultural families living in North Gyeongsang Province.

The university said the event is aimed at boosting communication and language skills for multicultural students, as well as easing society's prejudices toward them and promoting social integration.

The contest will consist of two categories. One will be for elementary students and the other for middle and high school students.

Participants must deliver two three-minute long speeches on multiculturalism, one in Korean and the other in their parents' native language.

The university’s multicultural policy institute will receive applications by email (multiculture@daegu.ac.kr) until July 18.
