S. Korea Wins 1st IHF Women's Junior World Championship

South Korea has won its first International Handball Federation's Women's Junior World Championship. 
 
The South Korean team, led by Coach Lee Kye-chung, beat Russia 34-27 at the finals held in Croatia on Sunday thanks to nine goals scored by Lee Hyo-jin alone.
 
Sunday marked the first time for South Korea to win the championship first established in 1977. South Korea had ranked second three times in previous tournaments in 1985, 1989 and 1991.
 
Lee Hyo-jin was named most valuable player, top scorer and best center back of the championship after scoring a total of 64 goals.
