The Gyeonggi provincial government and the Gyeonggi Cultural Foundation will host an international symposium to celebrate the addition of Namhansanseong fortress to the UNESCO World Heritage list.
 
The symposium will be held in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province, on July 25. It will bring together heritage experts from home and abroad and review good cases of preserving historical relics in other countries.
 
Milagros Flores, president of the International Scientific Committee on Fortifications and Military Heritage, will deliver a keynote speech on good examples of preserving military heritage.
 
The vice chairman and other senior members of the International Council on Monuments and Sites will deliver presentations on heritage protection.
 
A ceremony will be held at the mountain fortress on July 24 to commemorate its recognition as a world heritage.
