N. Korean Leader Injures Leg in Late June

A new North Korean media report indicates that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un hurt his leg in late June, although he was shown limping last week for the first time.

The North’s state-run Korean Central TV recently aired a documentary on Kim’s on-site inspections made in May and June, showing him walking with a bad limp in his right leg during a visit to a nursery construction site in Pyongyang on June 25.

Kim showed no problem with his leg during an inspection of a stadium renovation project on June 20, as seen in the North Korean media coverage.

The leg injury is presumed to have happened between the five days between June 20 and 25, as North Korea media outlets made no reports on his activities during that period.

The North Korean TV station reports that Kim has continued to visit military units and command a live-fire drill despite his leg injury.
