Korean Olympic Committee: Wrong Timing for Asiad Inter-Korean Team

The Korean Olympic Committee (KOC) and affiliate sports bodies say the timing is not right to form a joint team with North Korea for the Incheon Asian Games.

KOC Chairman Kim Jeong-haeng made the remark at the Korean National Training Center on Friday, citing the 38 sports associations involved.

He said in addition to timing, the idea would not be good considering the morale of the South Korean athletes ahead of the games.

Chairman Kim said North Korea has not officially proposed forming a joint team, but the KOC exchanged ideas with affiliate groups in light of such a possibility.
