South Korea's Gu Bon-gil snagged silver at the men's sabre event at the 2014 Fencing World Championships held in Kazan, Russia.

Gu gained silver after he lost seven to 15 during the final round of the men's sabre event against Russia's Nikolay Kovalev.

South Korea currently ranks third in the medal standings, following Russia and Ukraine. Russia ranked first in the medal standings as of Saturday with one gold and three bronze.
