S. Korea Re-states Regret Over Failed Talks With North on Asian Games

The South Korean government has again expressed regret that North Korea blames the South for the failed talks on Pyongyang's participation in the Incheon Asian Games.

In a regular briefing Monday, Unification Ministry spokesman Kim Eui-do said North Korea should show a more sincere attitude if it is serious about participating in the games and improving inter-Korean relations.

On resuming working-level discussions, Kim said Seoul will observe Pyongyang's posture for now, as the North made the call to end last week's meeting by walking out.

Regarding financial aid for the North's athletes and cheering squad during their stay in the South, Kim said Seoul will follow international customs, but added it is open to separate talks on the matter.
