Plan for South-North Joint Archery Training Scrapped

The Korea Archery Association said it has canceled a plan to hold joint training for South and North Korean teams ahead of the Asian Games.

An official from the South Korean association said the organization didn’t receive any word from its North Korean counterpart regarding its schedule or plans and decided to go ahead with its own agenda.

South Korean archery officials had previously said the North had discussed plans to practice for about two weeks in Incheon where the Asian Games will kick off on September 19.

Meanwhile, South Korea's national archery team has been training in Incheon since Monday. The team will leave for Taiwan on Wednesday to take part in the Asian Grand Prix opening on August 10.
