World renowned Korean soprano Jo Su-mi will perform during the Catholic Mass to be led by Pope Francis in Daejeon City on August 15.
 
During the Mass celebrating Assumption Day, which will be attended by bereaved families of the Sewol ferry victims, Jo will sing consolatory melodies, including Ave Maria.
 
A Catholic herself, the Grammy winning soprano said she has always held respect for Pope Francis who is well known for embracing the destitute. She said she believes the pope, through his visit to South Korea, will convey a message of hope that transcends religion.
