The Cultural Heritage Administration says that nearly one-thousand-700 cultural assets are in need of repair.
 
The administration made the finding as a result of a nationwide inspection on more than seven-thousand-300 cultural assets located outdoors, which was conducted from late last year to May this year. It said that 23 percent of the cultural assets surveyed are poorly maintained and seriously damaged.
 
Of them, 87 items, including several national treasures, need immediate care. 
 
The administration will divide the damaged cultural assets into six categories, based on their degree of damage. It will first repair the cultural assets deemed to be in emergency conditions.
