Football Association Fails to Hire Top Choice Dutch Manager

The Korea Football Association (KFA) says negotiations with Bert van Marwijk have failed to bring him to Korea as the new manager for the national football team.

The KFA plans to hold a related news briefing on Monday morning at its headquarters in Jongno, Seoul. Lee Yong-soo, head of the KFA technical committee will attend the briefing.

A senior KFA official said that there were various disagreements over the conditions for hiring Van Marwijk, adding the football association will have to seek negotiations with other candidates.

The KFA has engaged in talks with the former Dutch national team manager to replace Hong Myung-bo, who resigned in July after Korea’s disappointing performance in the 2104 Brazil FIFA World Cup.
