Uniform Unveiled, Volunteers Launched for Asiad

Uniforms for various participants in the Incheon Asian Games were unveiled on Tuesday.

The uniforms include those for organizing committee officials, volunteers, support crew members, torch bearers, international judges and award presenters.

During the unveiling ceremony held at Samsan World Gymnasium in Incheon, the volunteer team for the Asian Games was also launched.

Five thousand of the 13-thousand volunteers set to help out at the games this fall attended the event on Tuesday.

The volunteers were chosen in a one-point-nine to one competition ratio. They will serve in various roles that include administrative duties at stadiums, athlete villages and training grounds. Other volunteers will help out with the matches, traffic and interpretation.

The Incheon Asian Games will open September 19 for a 16 day run through October 4. Some 23-thousand athletes and officials will take part from 45 countries.
