Korea Beats Japan, Reaches Int'l Championship at Little League World Series

Korea beat Japan to advance to the International Championship at the Little League World Series.

At the semi-final game held in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania on Wednesday, Hwang Jae-yeong hit a homerun to take the lead in the sixth inning, helping Korea win against Japan 4-2. Hwang also hit a second home run in the following game against Puerto Rico on Monday.

Korea has won all three games in the International Group, going on to win against Puerto Rico 8-5 and securing a 10-3 victory over the Czech Republic.

Korea may have to play against Japan again, as the winner of the game between the runners-up, Japan and Mexico, will be Korea’s opponent in the International Championship game.

If Korea wins the International Championship, it will play against the American champion at the Little League World Series final.
