Male Skater Wins First Gold at ISU Junior Grand Prix

South Korea’s figure skater Lee Joon-hyung has won a gold medal at the ISU Junior Grand Prix in France.

Lee from Suri High School in Gunpo, Gyeonggi Province scored a combined 203-point-81 points in the short and free skate event held in Courchevel, France on Sunday.
 
Lee is the first South Korean male figure skater to win a gold medal at both the Junior Grand Prix and the ISU international championships.
 
Lee’s achievement is raising expectations for South Korea’s male figure skating ahead of the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang.
