The Korean period adventure film “The Pirates” has topped box office rankings over the weekend, beating "Roaring Currents" for the top spot.

According to the Korean Film Council's combined box office tally on Monday,"The Pirates" drew 950-thousand viewers over the past three days at 818 theaters nationwide.

The film, which opened on August 6, attracted five-point-92 million moviegoers over the past 19 days. 

“Roaring Currents” sold a total of 16-point-25 million tickets through the end of the weekend.
