S. Korea Provides N. Korea with Broadcasting Rights for Asian Games

North Korea will be able to broadcast the Incheon Asian Games set to open on September 19.

South Korea’s Korean Broadcasters Association (KBA) said Tuesday that it decided to provide the North with broadcasting rights to the games from a humanitarian standpoint, without charging broadcasting fees.

The decision was made as the North’s Korean Central Broadcasting Committee made a formal request.

The KBA has provided Pyongyang with broadcasting rights to televise international sporting events such as the FIFA World Cup and the Olympic Games.
