Joint Committee on Key National Tasks to be Launched Next Month

A Joint Committee of private and public officials and a working-level planning group that will pursue key state affairs will be launched next month. Senior secretary for policies at the Cheong Wa Dae said the joint committee and the planning group will pursue key tasks including, the transformation of South Korea into an economic hub in Northeast Asia, government reform, balanced national development and construction of a new administrative capital. The secretary said the legal framework for the establishment of the committee will be provided some time next week so that it can be launched next month. The government plans to appoint a minister-level official to head the Committee.
