RFA: Russian IT Firm Rejects N. Korea's Offer for Technology Coop.

Radio Free Asia (RFA) says a Russian IT company turned down North Korea’s offer for technology cooperation.

Quoting the Russian daily, Kommersant, RFA said Friday that Kaspersky Lab, a leading Internet security software firm in Russia, rejected the North’s offer. The report quoted the Russian firm as saying that it has no current plans to engage in such cooperation.

RFA said the North had recently proposed to send software experts to Kaspersky and to cooperate on establishing a software development center.

RFA said though Kaspersky Lab did not reveal the reason for rejecting the North’s proposal, the North’s negative image in the international community is likely to have led to the latest decision.
