Korean movies attracted a record 25 million monthly viewers in August.

The Korean Film Council’s box-office data showed that 25-point-06 million tickets were sold for Korean films last month, surpassing the previous record of 21-point-96 million set in August last year.

Domestic films also accounted for 77-point-nine percent of total box-office tickets sold last month, up 26-point-four percentage points from July.

Korean films’ cumulative share for this year posted 51-point-seven percent, compared to 48-point-three percent for foreign films.
